Who are Lewmar?
Lewmar are a leading sailboat and powerboat hardware supplier to the leisure marine industry. They design and manufacture a range of anchor windlass, bow thrusters, hatches and portlights and sailboat hardware for winching and steering. Arguably the world leader in yacht and powerboat accessories, Lewmar always look to set the standards which others follow.
Our Activities and Deliverables
The new windlass range (for lifting the anchor) took advantage of a new fabrication process, allowing higher precision and versatility to enable an aesthetic which complements its surroundings as well as a range of other benefits including reduced materials, cost and easier off-shore manufacturing and assembly.
The Result
The new V-Series windlass (blue line below) was introduced mid way through 2002. After launching the world’s first fully stainless steel windlass, sales of the V-series grew by around 100% in three years and with the later release of the pro-series, held off cheaper rivals with a growth over the whole sector of 30% in a highly competitive market.
