Ann Dickie Leaving

Our office manager, Ann Dickie is leaving us for greener pastures in New Zealand at the end of April. This opens up a position at 4c for a new office manager, please see our advertisement.

What Ann has to say about the job

“After 4 years at “The Hub” I am finally leaving. The only way I was going was if I got sacked for my well advertised “cheekiness” or if my poor long suffering husband managed to pull off a move to the other side of the world. Well, thankfully I haven’t been sacked (but there is still 4 weeks to go) but I am heading off to NZ.

So why would you want to work at “The Hub” as Office Manager? Simple – the vibe, the challenge and the experience. Robin has successfully managed to pull together design companies who work all under the one roof and working for all three is both challenging and extremely interesting. As an administrator, all jobs are basically the same but working for 4c, no two days are the same. Okay, you still have to answer the phone, make sure the accounts are up to scratch, make some tea, shout at colleagues and basically carry out every single administrative task you can think of. What you don’t expect to happen is to be excited by new projects, watching a brainstorming session develop into a full size prototype and if you know how to use a sewing machine then you will be involved with making up some part of a prototype. Pretty cool, eh? I have been exposed to madness, mayhem, danger and so much fun. I don’t think there has been a day when there hasn’t been a belly laugh from someone.

This is undoubtedly the best job in the world. If you want to be part of a team who delivers first class design, are willing to get your hands dirty but still do your own job effectively and efficiently, then this is the one for you. I promise, you will love it.

Thank you to each and every one of you for allowing me to slag off your lunch, make you the butt of my jokes and put up with all my rubbish. I am so glad you will never forget me…..EVER.”
