We were recently invited by our friends at Metis Partners to join their newly launched IP100 Club and are looking forward to meeting other members of the club at events in the coming months.

So what is the IP100 all about?

Metis Partners, in collaboration with BQ Magazine are inviting innovative companies to apply for free entry into the new IP League Table. Within the league, companies will be ranked according to the strength of their intellectual property (IP). The 100 top entrants will be published in an annual list and award presentations made at an annual dinner.

How will the companies be ranked?

A ‘proprietary process’ will be applied to rank the companies…we know no more than that! We have been assured that there will be a level playing field for revenue generating and pre-revenue companies and that the emphasis will be on the investment made by companies to create IP rather than on the revenues being made at the moment.

So what?

Metis and BQ reckon that entry into the IP League Table is a great way for companies to gain recognition as innovators: raising profile, making it easier to secure investment, increasing company value and improving ability to win business. Monthly meeting are planned at which IP100 Club Champions, including ourselves, will give talks on our experiences in working in innovation. At 4c, we make ideas valuable: we help innovators turn their good ideas into valuable intellectual property and importantly, products that will sell. So we think that participating in the IP League is not just an opportunity to gain recognition. It is also a good opportunity to meet and learn from others in the business of developing, managing and making money from their intellectual property.
