So the tax year is over, our return is submitted and our accountants are happy. What better time to take a moment to pause & reflect on the past year? And what a year it has been for 4c!
Awards for the Queen’s Baton
After visiting all of the Commonwealth nations, the Queen’s Baton arrived back in the UK and Games fever took over Glasgow. At 4c, we threw ourselves into the celebrations: running the relay; partying at the opening ceremony and applauding the competitors until our hands ached. We also visited schools all over the city telling the story of how we designed and made the baton here in Glasgow. To cap it all off, the Queen’s Baton won us not just one, but two, STAR awards!
We’ve been 3D printing for years, now we buy our own for the workshop!
Our in-house 3D printer has become our go-to piece of prototyping kit, so it is hard to believe that it entered our lives less than 12 months ago. We’ve used it on a wide range of projects already – in particular building prototypes of complicated mechanisms and iterating the design of our S’up Spoon.
Expansion of the Design Hub
We started the Design Hub to create a shared space for creative companies so we were delighted when our long-term clients, Equalizer, told us that they would like to move in. Our new, larger space not only has room for the Equalizer team, but also gives us a dedicated space for brainstorming sessions and a photo studio.
So all in all, it’s been a great year for the 4c team – and what better way to celebrate than with a party?
